SpeedCure 84 by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 2-hydroxy-2-methyl-1-phenylpropanone. Acts as a highly efficient, widely used, Type I photoinitiator. Exhibits good reactivity & low yellowing and provides good surface cure. Radicals are formed by a cleavage mechanism and as such does not require an amine synergist to promote radical production. The radicals formed can rapidly initiate the photo-polymerization of suitable acrylate oligomers and other monomer formulations. It is a clear colorless to yellowish liquid. SpeedCure 84 is used in adhesives. Suggested levels of use are 0.5 – 5% w/w. SpeedCure BKL by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 2,2-dimethoxy-1,2-phenylacetophenone. Acts as a highly efficient, widely used, general purpose, Type I photoinitiator. The radicals formed by an a cleavage mechanism rapidly initiate the photo-polymerization of suitable resin formulations. Exhibits fast cleavage reaction, high thermal stability and longer shelf life. It does not require presence of an amine synergist. Highly compatible with most pre-polymers, resins and monomers used in UV curing industry. It is soluble in most organic solvents. Prevents quenching of the excited state by oxygen and selected monomers. SpeedCure BKL is used in adhesives. Suggested levels of use are 0.5 – 5% w/w SpeedCure BKL (quantities vary depending on individual formulations and applications). SpeedCure MBF by Lambson (Sartomer) is a methylbenzoylformate. Acts as a highly efficient photoinitiator. Exhibits low odor and low oxygen inhibition. Offers excellent surface cure response, increased crosslinking density and non-yellowing properties. It is easy to handle and is used in conjunction with Speedcure TPO or Speedcure BKL. SpeedCure MBF is recommended for use in adhesives. Recommended levels of use are 3 – 5% w/w in clear coatings. SpeedCure BDMB by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 2-Benzyl-2-dimethylamino-4-morpholinobutyrophenone. Acts as a highly reactive Type I photoinitiator. It initiates rapid photo-polymerization when exposed to UV light. Easy to handle and weigh accurately. It is a pale yellow colored fine powder. It rapidly cures complex systems in conjunction with other co-initiators such as Speedcure 84 or Speedcure BKL. Particularly suitable for UV curable systems. SpeedCure BDMB is used in adhesives (red shifted ?max (325 nm). Suggested levels of use are 0.5 – 5%w/w. The product can also be used in conjunction with other co-initiators such as Speedcure 84 or Speedcure BKL dependent on the system that is being cured. SpeedCure BEDB by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 2-butoxyethyl-4-(dimethylamino)benzoate. Acts as a liquid amine synergist. Exhibits good solubilizing properties, low toxicity, low odor and ability to initiate as a single liquid. When used in conjunction with Type II photoinitiators, generates free radicals capable of initiating the rapid photo-polymerization of suitable resin formulations. Will dissolve Speedcure ITX (~25% w/v at 20°C). SpeedCure BEDB is used in adhesives. Suggested levels of use are 2 – 5% w/w Speedcure BEDB together with 0.25 – 3% w/w photoinitiator. SpeedCure MBP by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 4-methylbenzophenone. Acts as a photoinitiator. Unlike many other benzophenone derivatives it has same curing efficiency & other performance features as benzophenone. Is non-harmful, non-irritating and non-sensitising. It is a free flowing, easy to handle, low dusting, small flaked material. It works as a cost-effective benzophenone replacement. Suitable for use in benzophenone-free formulations. SpeedCure MBP is recommended for adhesives. SpeedCure EDB by Lambson (Sartomer) is an ethyl-4-(dimethylamino)benzoate. Acts as an efficient amine synergist. When used in conjunction with Type II photoinitiators, it generates free radicals (by hydrogen abstraction mechanism) that initiate photo-polymerization of suitable resin formulations. Shows good solubility in most common organic solvents & UV curable monomers, low toxicity and low odor. SpeedCure EDB is recommended for adhesives and sealants. Suggested levels of use are 2 – 5% w/w Speedcure DMB together with 0.25 – 3% w/w photoinitiator (quantities vary depending on individual formulations and applications). SpeedCure EHA by Lambson (Sartomer) is an 2-ethylhexyl-4-(dimethylamino) benzoate. Acts as an efficient amine synergist and solvent. When used in conjunction with Type II photoinitiators, it generates free radicals that initiate photo-polymerization of suitable resin formulations. Exhibits the capability of dissolving Speedcure ITX (~30% w/v at 20°C). Possesses low volatility, low freezing point and ability to add amine synergist and initiator as a single liquid. It is useful in UV formulations and is insoluble in water. SpeedCure EHA by Lambson is recommended for adhesives. Suggested levels of use are 2 – 5% w/w Speedcure EHA together with 0.2 – 3% w/w Speedcure ITX or BMDS (quantities vary depending on individual formulations and applications). SpeedCure PBZ by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 4-phenylbenzophenone. Acts as a photoinitiator. Upon UV irradiation, it forms a chemically reactive state capable of hydrogen abstraction from an amine synergist. The free radical from the amine provides very efficient initiation of suitable resins. Exhibits a faster cure than benzophenone. Has low odor and little photo yellowing. It absorbs at longer wavelengths than benzophenone. SpeedCure PBZ is recommended for adhesives. Suggested levels of use are 0.5 – 3% w/w Speedcure PBZ together with 2 – 5% w/w Speedcure EDB or DMB. SpeedCure 73 by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 2-hydroxy-2-methyl-1-phenylpropanone. Acts as a highly efficient, widely used, Type I photoinitiator. Radicals are formed by an a cleavage mechanism and as such Speedcure 73 does not require an amine synergist to promote radical production. The radicals formed can rapidly initiate the photo-polymerization of suitable acrylate oligomers and other monomer formulations. Exhibits good reactivity & low yellowing and offers good surface cure. It is a clear colorless to yellowish liquid. SpeedCure 73 is used in adhesives. Suggested levels of use are 0.5 – 5% w/w.
