ecovio® by BASF are compostable biodegradable polymers (PBAT and PLA) and bio-based plastics. Used to make plastic films such as organic waste bags, fruit and vegetable bags, carrier bags, etc. These grades can be used in paper coating, injection molding, and thermoformed products.

ecovio® F2224

ecovio® F2224 by BASF is a biodegradable polylactic acid (PLA). Designed for compostable film and blow molding applications. It is partly based on renewable resources and contains slip agent. Exhibits good thermostability, melt strength, excellent processability, high strength, stiffness and failure energy. It shows excellent welding properties. Recommended for conversion to flexible films using a blown film process. It is printable in 8 colors by flexo printing. ecovio® F2224 is used for packaging- and hygienic films.

ecovio® 70 PS14H6

ecovio® 70 PS14H6 by BASF is an industrial and home compostable biopolymer for paper coating. It contains 70-80% biobased carbon content renewable resources. It shows excellent barrier properties against liquids, fats, grease, and mineral oil as well as temperature stability at boiling water (up to 100°C). It is also characterized by outstanding adhesion to many types of paper and board and offers excellent welding and good scratch resistance. <br> <ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It has relatively high-water vapor transmission rate and good printability using alcohol and/or water-based colors. </li> <li>It supports organics recycling and helps to close the nutrient loop to achieve a circular economy.</li> <li>It can be processed in mono extrusion or as well as in co-extrusion with other compostable polymers. </li> <li>It can be used for cold and hot food packaging applications including fresh food (cheese, meat, fish), snack food, sachets, coffee cups, plates, trays and bowls. </li> <li>It complies with the requirements of the Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 and of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, 21 CFR for the use in single use polyester films and molded articles. </li> <li>ecovio® 70 PS14H6 has a shelf life of 12 months. </li></ul>

ecovio® T2206

ecovio® T2206 by BASF is a certified industrial compostable biopolymer consisting of 60% renewable resources. It is basically a compound of biodegradable copolyester ecoflex® F blend and polylactic acid (PLA). It contains antiblocking agents.<br> <ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It has been developed for the conversion of extruded films using a sheet extrusion line with a subsequent orientation or thermoforming process.</li> <li>It exhibits printability, high strength and stiffness as well as high failure energy (dart drop).</li> <li> It offers high, but controllable water vapor transmission rate (WVTR), good thermo stability, good processability on conventional sheet extrusion lines e.g. for PP, PS.</li> <li>ecovio® T2206 is recommended for oriented monofilaments and greenhouse twine for agro applications and cups, trays & other thermoformed containers.</li></ul>

It possesses a broad sealing window required for sealing layers of mono- and multi-layer film structures. ecovio® F2331 exhibits high melt strength, good thermostability up to 230°C and good mechanical properties. This grade shows excellent processability, wet strength and good welding properties. It is printable in 8 colors by flexo printing. ecovio® 60 IA 1552 by BASF is a certified industrial compostable biopolymer based on polylactide (PLA) and polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT). It exhibits a balanced high performance of strength and flexibility. It is used to manufacture black and white plant clips for the sustainable cultivation of greenhouse fruits and vegetables.
