ecovio® FT2341 by BASF is a biodegradable compound for compostable film with a bio-based content of 34% partly based on renewable resources. It is a compound of aliphatic-aromatic copolyester ecoflex® F and polylactic acid (PLA). It does not contain slip agent. This grade possesses high melt strength, good thermostability up to 230°C and good mechanical properties. ecovio® FT2341 demonstrates excellent processability, down gauging up to 10 µm with thickness 20-120 µm and wet strength. It exhibits excellent welding properties. It is printable in 8 colors by flexo printing. This grade is designed for the conversion to flexible films using a blown film process. It is used for of thin film applications like t-shirt, organic waste and fruit & vegetable bags.
