ecovio® TA1241 by BASF is a high-quality and versatile bioplastic. It is certified compostable and partly bio-based compound for compostable films or sheets containing renewable resources. It is a compound of biodegradable copolyester ecoflex and polylactic acid (PLA). It possesses a semi-crystalline structure with DSC melting point. It possesses high strength & stiffness and high but controllable water vapor transmission rate (WVTR). It offers good thermo stability in processing. It shows good processability and heat stable. It is printable, weldable and easy to color grade. It is developed for the conversion to extruded films using a sheet extrusion process with subsequent thermoforming operation. It is used for packaging film for cups, trays and other thermoformed containers or articles. ecovio® TA1241 complies with DIN Certco EN 13432 (EU), Vinçotte EN 13432 (EU), BPI ASTM D6400 (USA), DIN EN ISO 9001:2000, US food regulation and EU food stuff legislation.
