UNIFONE® PSU is an amorphous, semi-transparent and high performance polysulfone (PSU) grade by Nytef Plastics. Provides good mechanical & electrical properties along with thermal stability, allowing its use in load bearing applications over broad temperature ranges. Exhibits high impact resistance, low moisture absorption and excellent strength & rigidity even at elevated temperatures. Provides flame retardance, gamma radiation resistance and chemical resistance to many acids and solvents. Can withstand common sterilization techniques, supporting its use in numerous sanitary applications such as medical instruments and food processing machinery. It can be easily machined & fabricated and is available in a full range of heavy gauge rod, plate and tubular bar sizes. UNIFONE® PSU is used in medical instruments & instrument trays, pharmaceutical manufacturing, aircraft & aerospace instrumentation, appliance manufacturing and electrical insulators. Sample applications include connectors & components, electronics manufacturing, food processing, sensors & analytical instruments and microwave cookware. Complies with FDA, USDA, 3-A Dairy Standards, NSF Std. 61, USP Class VI and UL 94 HB flame rating.
