Octa-Soligen® Zirconium 10 aqua by Borchers (Milliken) is a zirconium-based secondary drier used in combination with cobalt, manganese and calcium. It is based on metal salt of 2-ethylhexanoic acid (octoates) or their isomers.<br>

It provides pigment wetting and film gloss properties. It prevents adsorption of the primary driers on the surface of pigments and extenders, thus stabilizing drying power.<br>

It exhibits a balanced ratio of the various metal contents, providing optimal results in initial drying and through-drying.<br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It offers excellent drier stability, outstanding brightness, good gloss, excellent hardness, and low viscosity.</li>
<li>It provides better drying times, particularly at high atmospheric humidity and low temperatures.</li>
<li>Octa-Soligen® 173 is used in all binder systems that dry by oxidation, including white and light-colored paints and automotive refinish coatings.</li>
<li>The recommended dosage level is 2-5% based on solid binder content.</li></ul> Octa-Soligen® Cobalt 6 (xylene) by Borchers (Milliken) is a cobalt accelerator for polyester systems. It is based on metal salts of 2-ethylhexanoic acid (octoates) or their isomers. It accelerates film structure and curing of resin binders.<br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>Octa-Soligen® Cobalt 6 (xylene) is suitable for use in synthetic resins for fiber reinforced tools and in unsaturated polyester systems for coatings and casting resins.</li>
<li>The recommended dosage level is 0.005-0.02% based on solid binder content.</li></ul> Octa-Soligen® 146 by Borchers (Milliken) is a combination drier for oxidatively drying alkyd resins. It improves hardness and exhibits uniform, optimum through-drying of the paint film. It delivers consistent drying performance even after prolonged storage of the coating.<br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It is used in pale-colored formulations and conventional alkyd systems like alkyd urethane coatings, and high-solids systems.</li>

It is based on metal salts of 2-ethylhexanoic acid (octoates) or their isomers. It catalyzes redox reactions and even small additions result in the dissociation of autoxidant hydroperoxides and to a change in valency from Co2+ to Co3+.<br>
