NECOWEL L 0000 by ASK Chemicals is a specialized alkyd resin based on maleinated linseed oil. Shows very good wetting properties and is compatible with color containing water & oil. NECOWEL L 0000 is suitable for tinting pastes and colors.
NECOWEL™ 720 by ASK Chemicals is a polyol component to formulate 2K PU lacquers. It has a high molecular weight polyester backbone and incorporated building blocks which increase the reactivity towards isocyanates. This improves the drying time up to 3 hours and achieves pendulum hardness above 150 seconds after seven days while maintaining a pot-life greater than 6h. It results in the cured PU-coating, clear-coat and topcoat exhibiting high gloss retention as well as an excellent- scratch, chemical and weathering resistance. It is free of VOC and SVOC and does not contain APEO. As crosslinker HDI and IPDI based oligomeric polyisocyanates are recommended. As usual in PU systems, an excess of crosslinker is recommended (e.g. 150 % isocyanate). NECOWEL™ 720 has a shelf life of 6 months.
NECOWEL 4400 by ASK Chemicals is a cosolvent-free, cation modified alkyd emulsion based on saturated fatty acids. Does not contain APEO (alkylphenol ethoxylates), VOC (volatile organic compound) and SVOC (semivolatile organic compounds). Offers good properties at neutral pH-value though the best properties can be reached at a pH-value of 6.5. Offers excellent stain blocking properties against water soluble substrate contaminations like nicotine, tobacco condensate, markers and wood ingredients. Most of these water soluble colorants are anionic and are fixed at the cationic counterpart in the resin. Shows good compatibility with additives and different kinds of pigments & fillers. Also offers excellent wetting and application properties. NECOWEL 4400 is suitable for stain blocking wall paints.
NECOWEL 5088 by ASK Chemicals is a cosolvent-free, aliphatic PU (polyurethane)-modified alkyd emulsion with medium oil length neutralized with ammonia. Does not contain APEO (alkylphenol ethoxylates), VOC (volatile organic compound) and SVOC (semivolatile organic compounds). Offers very good drying properties and good weather- & yellowing resistance. Lacquers formed show good adhesion on metal- and plastic substrates. Suitable for air drying top coats, e.g. for agricultural equipments. Applications of NECOWEL 5088 include industrial coatings, machinery lacquers, top coats, single layer systems, hybrid systems and wood lacquers.
NECOWEL 900 series by ASK Chemicals include surfactant-free, waterborne PU-modified alkyd emulsion grades designed for the formulation of ecofriendly coatings. The grades are VOC- and SVOC-free. In addition, the alkyd emulsions are free of PTBBA as well as free of MIT. It fulfills ecolabel requirements in combination with excellent hardness development due to their unique backbone and a balanced choice of fatty acids. The alkyd emulsions offer easy handling properties, high shear resistance and excellent gloss with low yellowing tendency. The grades can either be used alone or as co-binder in combination with acrylates. NECOWEL 900 series is recommended for architectural coatings, wall paints, wood lacquers, trim and house paints. Its minimum shelf life is about 6 months in closed original packaging.
NECOWEL 5100 by ASK Chemicals is a cosolvent-free, rheology modified alkyd emulsion with medium oil length neutralized with ammonia. Does not contain APEO (alkylphenol ethoxylates), VOC (volatile organic compound) and SVOC (semivolatile organic compounds). Offers fast drying properties as well as weather- & yellowing resistance and high gloss. Especially suited for the formulation of house and trim paints for application with paint brushes. Aqueous lacquers exhibit an improved flow behavior due to the rheological modification of the resin system. Applications of NECOWEL 5100 include house & trim paints with good leveling, top coats and wood lacquers.
NECOWEL 5286 by ASK Chemicals is a cosolvent-free, aliphatic PU (polyurethane)-modified alkyd emulsion with medium oil length. Does not contain APEO (alkylphenol ethoxylates), VOC (volatile organic compound) and SVOC (semivolatile organic compounds). The emulsion is neutralized with ammonia. Offers outstanding drying properties and good weather- and yellowing resistance. At drying temperatures below 40°C a loss of gloss is possible which can be avoided by forced drying or addition of solvents (1-2% butylglycol).Suitable for air- & forced drying top coats, e.g. for agricultural equipment. Lacquers formed show good adhesion on metal- and plastic substrates. Applications of NECOWEL 5286 include industrial coatings, machinery lacquers, top coats, single layer systems, wood lacquers and structured coatings.
NECOWEL FLE 55 M by ASK Chemicals is a copolymer resin emulsion based on fish oil and linseed oil. It is a 55% emulsion of NECOWEL FLE in water containing an APEO (alkylphenol ethoxylates) free emulsifier system. The emulsion is free of cosolvents, VOC (volatile organic compounds) and SVOC (semivolatile organic compounds). Does not contain any driers and therefore cobalt free or cobalt driers can be used. Provides very good weather resistance and outstanding wetting & penetration properties. Exhibits excellent natural wood color intensification. Especially suited to formulate non-film-forming wood stains and impregnating wood protection. Applications of NECOWEL FLE 55 M include wood impregnation, wood stains and wood varnishes. It has a shelf life of 6 months.
NECOWEL 585 by ASK Chemicals is a cosolvent free, aromatic PU (polyurethane)-modified alkyd emulsion (short oil length). Exhibits very fast drying properties. Improves brushability and gloss in acrylic systems. Shows good adhesion on different substrates including plastics like polystyrene and ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene). Forced drying (60-80°C) is possible for industrial applications. It is especially suited to formulate air-drying and odorless lacquers mainly for indoor applications and primers (including zinc phosphate primers). Applications of NECOWEL 585 include primers for metal, wood & plastics, anti-corrosive primers and hybrid systems.
NECOWEL 9076 by ASK Chemicals is a cosolvent-free, aliphatic PU (polyurethane)-modified alkyd emulsion with medium oil length based on soybean oil. Does not contain APEO (alkylphenol ethoxylates), VOC (volatile organic compound) and SVOC (semivolatile organic compounds). Provides very good weather resistance and good adhesion on different substrates. Offers fast build-up of water barrier in wood primers. Especially suited to formulate water-based primers and top coats. NECOWEL 9076 is used to formulate house paints with good processing properties and low yellowing tendency.
