Adhesive ingredients for Footwear & Leather

FutureChem® EHMA by FutureFuel Chemical Company is a methacrylate monomer with an ester like odor. It is used to impart hydrophobicity, flexibility, scratch resistance, chemical resistance, adhesion and weatherability.

• FutureChem® EHMA is used in adhesives, sealants, textile and leather finishes.

Pearlbond™ 920L distributed by Bjørn Thorsen is an plasticizer-free thermoplastic polyurethane. It is a translucent resin with excellent color stability upon UV exposure. It is suitable for processing by slot dye extrusion, blown extrusion, melt blown, roll-coating and gravure.

• Provides enhanced UV resistance and durability, ensuring consistent performance and protection against environmental elements.
• It exhibits excellent adhesion to various fabrics and offers high wash resistance.
• It delivers high hydrolytic resistance, good recovery, and breathability.
• Pearlbond™ 920L is recommended for hot melt adhesive applications in seam tapes, webs, and furniture edge banding, ensuring reliable bonding performance.
• It is used in textiles, interlinings, heat-transfer labels, footwear and non-food conveyor belts.

Solprene® 1217 by Dynasol is a gel- & BHT/TNPP-free, linear random-block styrene-butadiene copolymer with total content of 25% of styrene and 17.5% of block polystyrene. This grade exhibits non-staining antioxidant system. It is an excellent modifier for asphalt, formulation of caulks and sealants. It is used in extruded goods, soles and heels. Solprene® 1217 is recommended for use in hot-melt & pressure sensitive adhesives, labels and footwear. This grade is FDA approved for use in food contact applications.

Calprene® 500 by Dynasol is a gel-free, 70/30 linear butadiene/styrene thermoplastic copolymer, polymerized in solution. It exhibits excellent optical properties due to its clarity. It is stabilized with a non-staining antioxidant system. Calprene® 500 is suitable for use in hot-melt & pressure sensitive adhesives, sealants and labels. It is used in injected shoe sole formulations. This grade is FDA approved for use in food contact applications.

GLOBALPRENE™ 3545 by LCY Group is a styrene-butadiene block copolymer. It features a linear structure with high diblock content and is fully reprocessable.

• It is recommended for use in transparent shoe soles, plastic modification, mechanical parts, compounding applications and adhesives.

Pearlstick™ 48-60/03 distributed by Bjørn Thorsen is an elastic, linear, aromatic polyurethane with a very high crystallization rate and a medium-low thermoplasticity level. It enables the production of adhesives with high solids content and low viscosity. It is recommended for spray application in the automotive industry.

• It offers high performances in the green-strength of the joints and temperature resistance.
• It shows excellent heat resistance and very good freezing resistance.
• Pearlstick™ 48-60/03 is also suitable for plasticized PVC to plasticized PVC or other materials such as leather, textiles and rubber.
• The addition of a polyfunctional isocyanate improves the heat-resistance and the strength of the joints.

Pearlstick™ 45-40/08 distributed by Bjørn Thorsen is an elastic, linear, aromatic polyurethane. It shows good hydrolysis resistance. The addition of a polyfunctional isocyanate improves the heat-resistance and the strength of the joints.

• It is used in the production of adhesives for bonding plasticized PVC to plasticized PVC and other materials such as leather and textiles.
• Pearlstick™ 45-40/08 exhibits a very high crystallization rate and a medium thermoplasticity level.
• It is designed for use in solvent-based adhesives for the automotive, furniture, footwear, and other industries.

Pearlstick™ 45-60/18 by Bjørn Thorsen is an elastic, aromatic, linear thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). It is used in the production of adhesives for bonding plasticized PVC to plasticized PVC and other materials such as leather, textiles, rubber and in the shoe industry.

• It has an extremely high crystallization rate and a low thermoplasticity level.
• It exhibits good hydrolysis resistance.
• It shows high green strength values, easier heat activation (wide range of activation temperatures) and long and high hot-tack (tack retention).
• Pearlstick™ 45-60/18 is a suitable for one-component and solvent-based adhesives.

Pearlstick™ 45-60/03 by Bjørn Thorsen is an elastic, linear, aromatic thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) with an extremely high crystallization rate and a medium thermoplasticity level. It shows good hydrolysis resistance.

• It is used in the production of solvent-based adhesives for plasticized PVC to plasticized PVC and other materials, leather, textile and rubber.
• Pearlstick™ 45-60/03 enables the production of adhesives with high solids content and low viscosity.
• It is designed for spray application in the automotive industry.

• Recommended for primers and footwear industry.

Pearlstick™ 45-80/16 distributed by Bjørn Thorsen is an elastic, linear, aromatic thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) with a small amount of anti-adherent in the formulation. It has a very low crystallization rate and very low thermoplasticity level. It is suitable for bonding processes that do not require heat activation (cold bonding).

• It is used in the production of solvent-based adhesives for variety of materials such as leather, textiles, rubber and a variety of plastics (plasticized PVC, PU elastomers).
• Pearlstick™ 45-80/16 allows the production of adhesives with a very long open-time.
• Its addition to other different types of Pearlstick™ increases their open-times.
• A polyfunctional isocyanate is added to improve the heat-resistance and the strength of the joints.
