Adhesive ingredients for Footwear & Leather

FutureChem® EHMA by FutureFuel Chemical Company is a methacrylate monomer with an ester like odor. It is used to impart hydrophobicity, flexibility, scratch resistance, chemical resistance, adhesion and weatherability.

• FutureChem® EHMA is used in adhesives, sealants, textile and leather finishes.

Pearlbond™ 920L distributed by Bjørn Thorsen is an plasticizer-free thermoplastic polyurethane. It is a translucent resin with excellent color stability upon UV exposure. It is suitable for processing by slot dye extrusion, blown extrusion, melt blown, roll-coating and gravure.

• Provides enhanced UV resistance and durability, ensuring consistent performance and protection against environmental elements.
• It exhibits excellent adhesion to various fabrics and offers high wash resistance.
• It delivers high hydrolytic resistance, good recovery, and breathability.
• Pearlbond™ 920L is recommended for hot melt adhesive applications in seam tapes, webs, and furniture edge banding, ensuring reliable bonding performance.
• It is used in textiles, interlinings, heat-transfer labels, footwear and non-food conveyor belts.

Solprene® 1217 by Dynasol is a gel- & BHT/TNPP-free, linear random-block styrene-butadiene copolymer with total content of 25% of styrene and 17.5% of block polystyrene. This grade exhibits non-staining antioxidant system. It is an excellent modifier for asphalt, formulation of caulks and sealants. It is used in extruded goods, soles and heels. Solprene® 1217 is recommended for use in hot-melt & pressure sensitive adhesives, labels and footwear. This grade is FDA approved for use in food contact applications.

Calprene® 500 by Dynasol is a gel-free, 70/30 linear butadiene/styrene thermoplastic copolymer, polymerized in solution. It exhibits excellent optical properties due to its clarity. It is stabilized with a non-staining antioxidant system. Calprene® 500 is suitable for use in hot-melt & pressure sensitive adhesives, sealants and labels. It is used in injected shoe sole formulations. This grade is FDA approved for use in food contact applications.

GLOBALPRENE™ 3545 by LCY Group is a styrene-butadiene block copolymer. It features a linear structure with high diblock content and is fully reprocessable.

• It is recommended for use in transparent shoe soles, plastic modification, mechanical parts, compounding applications and adhesives.

Terpene Phenolic Resin by Foreverest Resources possesses high softening point and good stickability. Is particularly suitable to be used in making chloronorgutta rubber (graft polychloroprene rubber) adhesive for PVC artificial leathers. When once used, they can keep effective for much longer time as solvent adhesive because of their good quality of heat-resistance as well as better solvency for various kinds of flexible matter and resins. Terpene Phenolic Resin is widely used in various kinds of glue-water and as sole adhesive for making high grade shoes. Also used in all kinds of solvent adhesive, dismodule type of CR adhesive, heat solvent adhesive, heat solvent adhesive stick & adhesive tape.

Desmocoll® 400/3 by Covestro is a predominantly linear hydroxyl polyurethane. Offers characteristics such as good adhesion on PVC substrates and high resistance to the most commonly used PVC plasticizers. Desmocoll® 400/3 is used in the formulation of adhesives for use on various materials like leather, rubber, textiles, wood, many plastics (including PU elastomers), plastic films, and aluminium foils. Recommended storage temperature of Desmocoll® 400/3 is 10-25 °C.

Desmocoll® 400/2 by Covestro is a predominantly linear hydroxyl polyurethane. Exhibits excellent solubility in many solvents, e.g. chlorinated hydrocarbons. Offers benefits such as high crystallization rate, good adhesion on PVC substrates and high resistance to the most commonly used PVC plasticizer. Desmocoll® 400/2 is used in solvent borne adhesives for leather, rubber, textiles, wood, many plastics (including PU elastomers), plastic films and aluminum foils.

Desmocoll® 176 by Covestro is a predominantly linear hydroxyl polyurethane. It is used in the formulation of heat activated, solvent-borne adhesives for use on leather, rubber, textiles, wood, many plastics (including PU elastomers), plastic films and aluminum foils. Desmocoll® 176 is a flexible polyurethane with a medium crystallization rate and outstanding adhesion on a wide variety of substrates. It has a shelf life of six months.

Desmocoll® 500/2 by Covestro is a predominantly linear hydroxyl polyurethane. Used in the formulation of adhesives for use on various materials; e.g., leather, rubber, textiles, wood, many plastics (including PU elastomers), plastic films and aluminum foils. Offers benefits such as good adhesion to PVC substrates, good resistance to the most commonly used PVC plasticizers and very high crystallization rate. Recommended storage temperature of Desmocoll® 500/2 is 10 -25 °C.
