Davis Color™ Black 863 by Huntsman is a synthetic iron oxide black. It is a synthetic magnetite (Fe3O4) produced in the aniline process, high-tinting strength inorganic, permanent and inert black pigment characterized by a brownish/gray tint. <br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It meets or exceeds ASTM C979-82 standards for pigments used in cement. </li>
<li>It exhibits color-stability in processing temperatures below 180°C (365°F), above this temperature, it changes color from black to brown and finally to red.</li>
<li>It is rcommended, owing to its sufficient purity, for use in packaging or articles that come in contact with food (21CFR), but not suitable for the direct coloration of pet food or cosmetics. </li>
