Matrimid® 5218

Matrimid® 5218 by Huntsman is a soluble thermoplastic polyimide. Acts as a flexibilizer. It is based on a proprietary diamine, 5(6)-amino-1-(4' aminophenyl)-1,3,-trimethylindane. Matrimid® 5218 is fully imidized during manufacturing, eliminating the need for high temperature processing. It offers good thermal stability, high glass transition temperature and an excellent adhesion on various substrates such as engineering plastics. Possesses an excellent chemical resistance to water, steam, brine, acids, caustic and non-polar organic solvents, unlike other polyimides. It is soluble in a variety of common solvents (i.e. CH2Cl2, CHCl3, THF, DMAC, DMF, NMP). Matrimid® 5218 has compatibility with epoxies and other chemistries. Used in film casting.

Araldite® DY-L

Araldite® DY-L by Huntsman is a tri- functional polypropylene glycol-based epoxy resin. Acts as a flexibilizer. It offers reduction in surface hardness, moderate lowering of viscosity, very marked lowering of reactivity and an enhanced flexibility. Araldite® DY-L exhibits resistance to hot water and general resistance to chemicals.

Matrimid® 9725

Matrimid® 9725 by Huntsman Advanced Materials is soluble thermoplastic polyimide. It is a flexibilizer. It is a micropulverized version of Matrimid® 5218. Based on a proprietary diamine, 5(6)-amino-1-(4' aminophenyl)-1,3,-trimethylindane, it is fully imidized during manufacturing, eliminating the need for high temperature processing. Matrimid® 9725 offers high glass transition temperature and an excellent adhesion on various substrates such as engineering plastics. It exhibits an excellent chemical resistance along with very good thermal properties (Tg DMA > 300°C). It is soluble in a variety of common solvents (methylene chloride, ethylene chloride, chloroform, tetrachloroethane, THF ETC). Has compatibility with epoxies and other chemistries.
