SUMIKAEXCEL PES 4800G is a high molecular weight, general purpose and flame retardant polyethersulphone (PES) grade by Sumitomo Chemical. Exhibits dimensional stability, excellent thermal stability, good impact strength, high level of light transmittance, low coefficient of linear expansion and low temperature dependence. Provides low mold shrinkage, water absorption, electrical insulation, high weld strength, toughness and outstanding rigidity. Offers heat-, creep-, hydrolysis-, hot water-, stress cracking, acid- and alkali resistance. Shows moldability, ultrasonic welding, low amounts of smoke, low flash properties, poor weather resistance and no anisotropy. Possesses excellent resistance to aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, chlorinated hydrocarbons, aromatic chemical agents, cleaning solvents, oil, grease, bleaches and disinfectants. Is affected by polar solvents such as acetone and chloroform. SUMIKAEXCEL PES 4800G is suitable for processing by extrusion and injection molding. Extrusion process offers LCD substrate films with superior transparency and is recommended for card-type electronic calculators, pagers, mobile phones and electronic organizers. Used in electrical-, electronic-, hot water-, automotive-, machinery- and OA/AV equipment (gears and lubricant-free bearings for photocopiers & printers and optical pickup components) applications. Complies with UL 94 V-0 flame rating.
