KyronMAX® S-4240 by Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials is a lightweight, user friendly, PPA-based structural compound with low density. It exhibits high stiffness, high thermal resistance, low moisture absorption, low swell and chemical resistance. When molded, parts are 75% lighter than steel and almost 40% lighter than aluminum. This grade realizes lower costs & lighter parts and provides unmatched tensile & toughness properties. It incorporates short carbon fiber technology. It is the strongest moldable polymer available for metal replacement. It is processed by injection molding. It is used in automotive-bushings, washers, pistons, brackets, handles, aerospace-latches, rings, hinges, spacers, seals, adapters and electrical-pins, fasteners, end effectors, connectors, panels. KyronMAX® S-4240 is also used in medical-clamps, vanes, housings, bushings, gears, valves, energy-seals, bearings, plugs, umbilical’s, back-up rings and industrial-valve plates, column packing, gears, valve seats.
