AKROMID® T1 GF 50 by Akro-Plastic is a polyphthalamide (PPA)-based grade with a partially aromatic polyamide block in the polymer chain and reinforced with 50% glass fiber. Provides high temperature-resistance, excellent stiffness, good surface finish, easy processability and minimal creep. Exhibits improved chemical and hydrolytic resistance and lowest moisture absorption out of the three PA grades (PA 6, PA 6.6, PPA). Shows resistance towards fuels, glycol, alcohol, oils, water etc. Maintains its initial stability even at temperatures of up to 140 °C. Processed by injection molding. Is suitable for metal replacement in applications involving high temperature loading in the automotive sector such as components subjected to mechanically high stress in engine construction and in machine building in the interior (center armrest, etc.), cooling system (thermostat housing, connectors, etc.), in the oil circuit (tensioner bases, etc.), in the brake system (valve bodies, etc.), in clutch components (central clutch release bearing, etc.), and in air ducting parts (side pieces for charge-air coolers, control shafts, etc.). Used in electrical industry for mobile telephone parts (chip carrier, etc.), coil formers, motor parts (brush holders, etc.), plugs and connectors and bulb and LED sockets. Also used for dimensionally stable housings and hot water resistant functional parts in the sanitary- as well as appliance industry such as heating systems (fan housings, etc.), components for coffee machines (grades compliant with KTW ? German recommendation for polymers in drinking-water systems), water meters and water filters (KTW-compliant, hot water) and pump systems (misc. functional parts).
