Silquat® by Siltech are alkylamino-modified silicones quaternized with methyl diethyl or methyl distearyl groups. The modification provides a cationic material that is exceptional at migrating and attaching to surfaces, leaving behind a layer of hydrophobic silicone. They are ideal for hair care conditioning applications.
Major classes of Silquat® brand include:
- Silicone Dialkyl Quats: Alkyl group can range from C1 to C18
- Silicone Fatty Amido Quats: Fatty group can range from lauric to stearic. These are 70% active in hexylene glycol
- Silicone Polyether Fatty Quats: Fatty group can range from lauric to stearic
