SpeedCure DETX

by Lambson (Sartomer)

SpeedCure DETX by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 2,4-diethylthioxanthone. Acts as a highly efficient photoinitiator. When used in conjunction with tertiary amine synergists, it initiates the rapid photo-polymerization of suitable resin formulations. Exhibits increased solubility over alternative thioxanthones and promotes surface curing of films. Can act as a photosensitizer for Type I photoinitiators. Shows two major UV absorption bands. Allows for single liquid additive comprising initiator and synergist. Suitable for pigmented systems. SpeedCure DETX is recommended for wood varnishes, printing inks and decorative coatings for metal cans and food cartons. Suggested levels of use are 0.25 – 3% w/w SpeedCure DETX together with 2 - 5% w/w amine synergist such as Speedcure EDB or DMB.

SpeedCure ITX

by Lambson (Sartomer)

SpeedCure ITX by Lambson (Sartomer) is a mixture of 2-isopropylthioxanthone and 4-isopropylthioxanthone. Acts as a highly efficient photoinitiator. When used in conjunction with tertiary amine synergists, it induces the rapid photo-polymerization of suitable resin formulations. Has good solubility in most common organic solvents & UV curable monomers, and Speedcure BEDB (~ 30% w/v at ambient temperature). UV absorption spectrum shows two major absorption bands. Allows possibility of producing a single liquid additive comprising both initiator and synergist. Can act as an efficient long wave sensitiser for Type I and Type II photoinitiators. Absorption at 258 nm promotes surface cure of films and at 383 nm promotes excellent depth cure in pigmented and thick films. SpeedCure ITX is suitable for wood varnishes, printing inks, decorative coatings for metal cans & food cartons. Suggested levels of use are 0.25-3% w/w Speedcure ITX together with 2 – 5% w/w amine synergist such as Speedcure EDB or DMB (quantities vary depending on individual formulations and applications).

SpeedCure EDB

by Lambson (Sartomer)

SpeedCure EDB by Lambson (Sartomer) is an ethyl-4-(dimethylamino)benzoate. Acts as an efficient amine synergist. When used in conjunction with Type II photoinitiators, it generates free radicals that initiate photo-polymerization of suitable resin formulations. Has good solubility in most common organic solvents and UV curable monomers, low toxicity and low odor. SpeedCure EDB is recommended for wood varnishes, overprint varnishes, printing inks and decorative coatings for metal cans and food cartons. Suggested levels of use are 2 – 5% w/w Speedcure DMB together with 0.25 – 3% w/w photoinitiator (quantities vary depending on individual formulations and applications).

SpeedCure EHA

by Lambson (Sartomer)

SpeedCure EHA by Lambson (Sartomer) is an 2-ethylhexyl-4-(dimethylamino) benzoate. Acts as an efficient amine synergist. When used in conjunction with Type II photoinitiators, it generates free radicals that initiate photo-polymerization of suitable resin formulations. Exhibits the capability of dissolving Speedcure ITX (~30% w/v at 20°C). Possesses low volatility, low freezing point and ability to add amine synergist and initiator as a single liquid. Acts as useful solvent in UV formulations and is insoluble in water. SpeedCure EHA is recommended for wood varnishes and decorative coatings for metal cans and food cartons. Suggested levels of use are 2 – 5% w/w SpeedCure EHA together with 0.2 – 3% w/w Speedcure ITX or BMDS (quantities vary depending on individual formulations and applications).

SpeedCure DMB

by Lambson (Sartomer)

SpeedCure DMB by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 2-(dimethylamino) ethylbenzoate. Acts as an efficient amine synergist. When used in conjunction with Type II photoinitiators, it generates free radicals that initiate photo-polymerization of suitable resin formulations. This liquid amine exhibits low volatility, little photo-yellowing and low freezing point. Will dissolve Speedcure ITX (~30% w/w). SpeedCure DMB is recommended for wood varnishes, printing inks and decorative coatings for metal cans and food cartons. Suggested levels of use are 2 – 5% w/w SpeedCure DMB together with 0.25 – 3% w/w photoinitiator (quantities vary depending on individual formulations and applications).

SpeedCure XFLM01

by Lambson (Sartomer)

SpeedCure XFLM01 by Lambson (Sartomer) is a low migration formulation. Acts as a photoinitiator. SpeedCure XFLM01 is suitable for food packaging related applications such as UV flexographic, offset and screen printing inks.

SpeedCure EMK

by Lambson (Sartomer)

SpeedCure EMK by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 4,4’-bis(diethylamino)benzophenone. Acts as an efficient UV photoinitiator absorbing at 377 nm. It is a very effective hydrogen donor, especially with Benzophenone and substituted Benzophenones such as BMS and PBZ. UV absorption is very close to the strongest wavelength output of a standard UV lamp at 366 nm. Offers very fast, efficient cure. SpeedCure EMK is suitable for UV-curable printing inks.

SpeedCure 97

by Lambson (Sartomer)

SpeedCure 97 by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 2-methyl-1-[4-(methylthio)phenyl]2-morpholinopropan-1-one. Acts as a Type I photoinitiator. It initiates UV photo-polymerization typically with unsaturated monomers and polymers such as acrylates/methacrylates or vinyl polymers. Exhibits good reactivity and offers good surface cure. Addition of thioxanthone sensitiser increases cure speed. It is a white colored powder. Particularly suitable for pigmented systems operating in the UV absorption 250 – 350 nm wavelength. SpeedCure 97 is used for very high speeds in clear coatings (0.1-1%), offset inks (4-6%), screen inks (2-4%), overprint varnishes, wood lacquers, printing inks and silicone based coatings.
