Carbowet® 138 by Evonik acts as an ethoxylated non-ionic surfactant which is typically used alone or in combination with an anionic surfactant. This cost- effective multi-functional additive provides rapid substrate and pigment wetting. It is a clear, low-odor, low-viscosity liquid that is 100% active and features excellent ease-of-use. It has an HLB of 13.9 and can function as an environmentally preferable alternative to certain alkyl phenol ethoxylates based surfactants. It is suitable for water-borne paints and graphic arts applications. Also used for colorants and pigment concentrates. Recommended usage level ranges between 0.5 and 1% of total formulation weight. Carbowet® 138 has a shelf life of 24 months. Carbowet® GA-210 by Evonik acts as a non-ionic wetting agent. This surfactant is a multifunctional, low-foaming grind aid which can provide rapid pigment as well as substrate wetting and is an environmentally preferable alternative to APE- containing surfactants. Carbowet® GA-210 is designed to assist in the formulation of low- to zero-VOC coatings while offering improved freeze-thaw stability, and scrub resistance. Exhibits little to no impact on system rheology, water resistance, dry time, block resistance, gloss, or opacity. Offers improvement in milling efficiency for faster as well as greater color and hiding development. Also offers improved color rub-up and color acceptance for enhanced touch up. Carbowet® 76 by Evonik is a multifunctional, nonionic wetting and dispersing agent. It is typically used in combination with a higher-HLB, non-ionic surfactant. It is a hazy, low odor and low viscosity liquid. Carbowet® 76 is biodegradable so it is an environmentally preferable alternative to nonylphenol and alkyl phenol ethoxylates. It is cost-effective and used in architectural paints, industrial coatings, wood coatings, printing inks and resin-free pigment concentrates. Recommended dosage level is 1.0-3.0%. It acts as a non-ionic wetting agent. This surfactant can provide exceptional dry pigment wetting, deaeration and optimal milling efficiency which allows for faster as well as stronger color development. It does not contain added APEs or solvents. Exhibits little to no impact on system rheology, water resistance, dry time, block resistance, gloss, or opacity. Designed for architectural paints, industrial, paper & OEM coatings and printing inks. It is environment friendly and is suitable for formulations that release few or no volatile organic compounds (VOC) or are to be labeled with the Ecolabel. Provides low-foaming surfactant behavior in pigmented systems. It has a shelf life of 24 months and a dosage level of 0.2-0.5%. Carbowet® GA-200 enhances wetting, crushing and a targeted influence on the phase interaction (compatibilization).
