Carbowet® 109

Carbowet® 109 by Evonik is a non-ionic wetting agent. It has an HLB of 13 and acts as a multifunctional, low-foaming, solvent-free and alkyl phenol ethoxylate-free additive for pigment and substrate wetting. It exhibits excellent surface tension reduction, provides rapid substrate, pigment wetting and performs in a wide range of applications.

• It is a clear, low odor, low viscosity, easy to handle liquid that is 100% active and features excellent ease of use.
• It is an environmentally preferable alternative to alkyl phenol ethoxylates having approximately 9 moles of ethylene oxide.
• It is rapidly soluble in water—not prone to gel formation, contains no phenolic compound, is cost-effective and readily biodegradable.
• Carbowet® 109 is used in architectural coatings, industrial coatings, pigment synthesis and dispersion as well as in inks.
• It is suitable for water-borne, direct grind, resin-containing pigment concentrates and resin-free pigment concentrates & non-suitable for 2-pack 100%, solvent-borne, radiation-curing.
