Highly maleic-modified pentaerythritol ester of rosin. It is an extremely hard thermoplastic resin. Shows good pigment wetting ability, high gloss, good color retention, good solubility and compatibility. Shows greater reactivity with drying oils. Requires faster bodying, higher viscosities and faster film drying. Used in letterpress, offset and gravure-type printing inks and varnishes.
