2-(3’-tert-butyl-2’-hydroxy-5’-methylphenyl)-5-chlorobenzotriazole. Used as ultraviolet light absorber. Offers low initial color. Provides low volatility during high processing temperatures. Exhibits good extraction resistance. BLS® 2908 by Mayzo is Benzoic acid, 3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxy-, hexadecyl ester. It acts as a light stabilizer. It functions by scavenging free radicals formed during the photodegradation of plastic materials. Combinations of this product with hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) often provide superior performance vs. HALS used alone, especially in polyolefin substrates. Has low volatility. BLS® 2908 is non-discoloring, has good compatibility with polyolefin substrates, is resistant to extraction, and is FDA-cleared for use in polyolefins. Potential applications include polypropylene and TPO thick-section parts and polyethylene (HDPE, LLDPE, LDPE) moldings, films, and tapes. Recommended concentrations in polyolefins range from 0.1 to 0.5%. 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone. Acts as a benzophenone-type ultraviolet absorber. It is non-discoloring. Used for acrylics, and unsaturated polyesters. The recommended concentrations in polyolefins range from 0.05 to 1%. In unsaturated polyesters, it may be used in combination with benzotriazole UV absorbers such as BLS 1328 and/or with HALS such as BLS 1239R or BLS 292. 2-[2-hydroxy-3,5-di-(1,1-dimethylbenzyl)]-2H-benzotriazole. Used as ultraviolet light absorber. Possesses low initial color. Offers low volatility during high processing temperatures. Exhibits good extraction resistance. BLS® 3039 by Mayzo is 2-Propenoic acid, 2-cyano-3,3-diphenyl-, 2-ethylhexyl ester. Acts as a UV absorber and light stabilizer. Exhibits strong UV absorbance, especially in the UV-B region, chemically non-interacting with reactive monomers and metal-based catalysts, suitable for use with optical brighteners due to its low long wavelength UV absorbance, non-discoloring, chemically non-interacting with reactive monomers and polymerization catalysts. BLS® 3039 is compatible with polyurethanes, styrenic polymers, polyesters, polyamides, and acrylics. Recommended dosage 0.1-2% by weight, depending upon the substrate, processing conditions, end use, and other performance requirements. It has a shelf life of 2 years. Benzotriazole and a benzophenone ultraviolet light absorber blend. Imparts good light stability for plastics. Offers good extraction resistance. Provides improvement of long-term stability. Hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS). Offers low volatility and very good miscibility. Light stabilizer effective for a broad range of UV absorption.
Low color contribution, low volatility and excellent solubility.
Also provides ultraviolet protection in a wide variety of polymeric systems;
particularly in polyesters, polyvinyl chlorides, styrenics, acrylics, polycarbonates and
polyvinyl butyral during outdoor weathering.
Typical end use applications : molded items, extruded sheets, glazing materials for window lighting, signs, marine and auto applications, coatings (particularly
thermo sets where low volatility is a concern), photo products, sealants, and elastomeric
materials. BLS® 1130 by Mayzo is poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), a-[3-[3-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-5-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxyphenyl]-1-oxopropyl]-?-hydroxy-; poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), a-[3-[3-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-5-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxyphenyl]-1-oxopropyl]-?-[3-[3-(2Hbenzotriazol-2-yl)-5-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxyphenyl]-1-oxopropoxy]-. Acts as a UV absorber and light stabilizer. Excellent miscibility with coating solvents, synergistic performance with other light stabilizers, thermal permanence and low volatility for high temperature curing. BLS® 1130 is compatible with polyurethanes, elastomers, styrenic polymers, acrylics, PVB, flexible PVC, polyesters, polycarbonates, and polyolefins. Recommended dosage is 0.1-1.0%. It has a shelf life of one year. BLS® 1710 by Mayzo is phenol, 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-methyl. Acts as a UV absorber and light stabilizer. Exhibits strong absorption of ultraviolet radiation in the 300-400 nm region, low color contribution, good compatibility and solubility and is FDA cleared. It protects the polymers from UV radiation helping to preserve the original appearance and physical integrity. BLS® 1710 is compatible with PVC, styrenic polymers, unsaturated polyesters, acrylics, and polyvinyl butyral. Recommended dosage is 0.1-0.5% in plastics. It has a shelf life of 2 years.
