It is insoluble in water, lower alcohols and glycols, but soluble in most organic solvents. Easily emulsified for blending into water based formulations, its applications also include rubbers including Neoprene, polyurethanes, and flame retardant paints and adhesives. To obtain the optimum cost performance, it is usually used in combination with a synergist such as antimony oxide or a phosphate ester.
