ColorMatrix™ Lactra™ LX by Avient (Formerly PolyOne) is a bright white, solid masterbatch and light blocking additive. It provides high-performance light blocking technology and protection for liquid dairy products in monolayer polyethylene (PET) bottles. It protects contents from visible light and extends shelf life.<br><ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>Its core functionality lies in providing 100% visible light blocking which significantly reduces light-induced oxidation.</li><li>It prevents degradation caused by light exposure particularly during long ambient storage.</li><li>It enables versatile container designs and shapes for easier pouring and product differentiation.</li><li>It is suitable for re-sealable containers or containers that are stored flat after opening.</li><li>It offers package light weighting with no reduction in light blocking performance.</li><li>It reduces overall system cost compared to other rigid packaging options.</li><li>It helps preserve essential nutrients like vitamins A, B2 (riboflavin), D and amino acids.</li><li>It also prevents oxidation of milk fats which can result in off-flavors.</li><li>It enhances the user-friendliness of UHT dairy packaging by enabling the use of a single-layer PET bottle that provides the same visible light blocking as multilayer HDPE or paperboard packaging.</li><li>ColorMatrix™ Lactra™ LX minimizes light-induced oxidation and helps preserve both the products nutritional properties and taste even during long periods of ambient storage typical of UHT dairy products.</li></ul> ColorMatrix™ Lactra™ ESL by Avient (Formerly PolyOne) is a light-blocking additive designed specifically for extended shelf-life (ESL) liquid dairy products. It helps to extends the shelf life of products, especially ultra-high temperature (UHT) liquid dairy products by providing protection from visible-light induced degradation under commercially relevant storage conditions. It has a total inorganic content <4% and TiO2 content options between 4% and 0%. It offers light blocking up to 99.9%, improved performance (>99.8% up to 700nm) in thin wall sections, superior whiteness and processability with non-reheat grades of PET and rPET. It reduces equipment wear and tear. Applications include monolayer PET bottles. ColorMatrix™ Lactra™ Four is REACH compliant and EU food contact approved. ColorMatrix™ Lactra™ Zero by Avient (Formerly PolyOne) is a high-performance light blocking additive for PET dairy and dairy-alternative packaging.
