Formacel™ S (HCFC-22)

Supplied byChemours- Last Updated on Jul 8, 2020

Formacel™ S (HCFC-22) by Chemours is a chlorodifluoromethane (100% concentration)-based blowing agent. It is also used as a co-blowing agent in extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation board. It is a high performing and lower ODP (ozone depletion potential) grade. It exhibits non-flammability and low boiling point. It can also be blended with HCFC-141b as a co-expansion agent, to produce foams with lower cost, superior dimensional stability and improved insulation value at low temperatures. This grade is a regulated HCFC (hydro-chlorofluorocarbon) product and available as a clear liquefied gas. Formacel™ S (HCFC-22) is suitable for polyurethane foam systems, insulated metal panels and doors, construction and appliance applications. It offers incompatibility with powdered metal salts, alkali-, alkaline earth- and powdered metals.
