Ferrocling PW 60
by Ferro-Plast
Ferrocling PW 60 by Ferro-Plast is a concentrate of high molecular weight polyisobutylene tackifler in linear low density polyethylene. Acts as a cling agent. Contains 57-63% polyisobutylene. It is dry and free-flowing. Polymers used with it must not contain any slip or antiblock additives or have a density higher than 0.923 as it prevents the migration of the cling additive. It can be used in both blown or cast film processes. Designed to produce stretch film from LLDPE, LDPE or other polyolefins for the applications of pallet wrap, silage wrap and food wrap. Addition rate depends on which layer is used and the layer thickness. Recommended dosage rates are 8% by wt. for monolayer blown films in LLDPE (or resin mix), 3-4% for monolayer cast films. For multilayer film lines, it is added in the skin layers only. Ferrocling PW 60 compliant with FDA food contact approval.
KVIS-30
by Kothari Petrochemicals
KVIS-30 by Kothari Petrochemicals acts as a cling additive in stretch/cling film manufacturing. It is a viscous, non-toxic, chemically inert, high molecular weight polyisobutylene (PIB) grade.
- It functions as a tackifier for linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE).
- It is either incorporated directly into film extrusion or through a PIB masterbatch.
- Films made by incorporating KVIS-30 exhibit good clarity, durability and cling properties.
- The recommended applications for tackified LLDPE are pallet stretch wrap and bale silage wrap.
- It possesses very low toxicity, making it suitable for use in domestic cling film meant for food wrap.
- It has a shelf life of 12 months.
PW 52
by Polytechs
PW 52 by Polytechs is a high molecular weight polyisobutylene tackifier based cling masterbatch in linear low density polyethylene(LLDP). It is a dry free flowing pellet. PW 52 is used to produce stretchwrap film from LLDPE, LDPE and other polyolefins for the applications of palletwrap, silagewrap and foodwrap. It can be used on either blown film or cast film process. Polymers used with PW 52 masterbatch must not contain any antiblocking additive, slip agent, or have a density higher than 0.923, as this will prevent the migration of cling additive. Migration time for good cling properties is usually 24 to 72 hours. On monolayer blown film lines, 10% PW 52 by weight should be added to resin mix. On monolayer cast lines , 4 to 6 % PW52 should be added. On multiple-layer film lines, PW52 is usually added to the skin layers only. Addition level depends on which layer is used and the thickness of layer. Polyisobutylene is allowed by the FDA for use in contact with food ( 21 CFR 117.1430 ) and also meets the requirements of EC Directive 90/128/EEC.
