Ketron® PEEK IM is an unfilled, semi-crystalline polyetheretherketone [PEEK] grade. Exhibits excellent chemical resistance, hydrolysis resistance, very low moisture absorption, good wear- & abrasion- resistance and remains unaffected by continuous exposure to hot water or steam. Provides excellent combination of thermal resistance and high compressive strength. Has good electrical insulating as well as dielectric properties, very good dimensional stability, inherent low flammability and very low levels of smoke evolution during combustion. Also exhibits excellent resistance to high energy radiation [gamma- and X-rays], high mechanical strength, stiffness and creep resistance at elevated temperatures. Is suitable for processing by injection molding. Used in pump components, valve seats, bearings, rollers, gears, high temperature insulators, components exposed to boiling water or steam. Applications include back-up rings, thin-wall rings, extruded rods & sheets for machined parts, compression molded tubes, rods and sheets for heavier cross-section parts.
