Cardia Biohybrid™ BL-M by Cardia Bioplastics is a blend of thermoplastic starch (TPS) with polyolefin. It is formulated with 66% of renewable thermoplastic starch polymer. It offers a high level of mechanical strength, outstanding elongation properties and toughness. It is suitable for a wide range of products manufactured by injection molding, extrusion or blow molding processes. Due to its content of polyolefins the material is not a fully biodegradable polymer and is not intended for ultimate disposal in commercial composting facilities. It is used in injection molded products such as cutlery, toothbrushes, combs, shavers, golf-tees, etc, stakes and pegs, horticultural products such as flower pots, planters, stakes, caps, closures. Cardia Biohybrid™ BL-M is also recommended for sheet extruded products such food trays, tubs, disposable plates, strapping, labels, blow molded bottles, toys, profile extruded products such as candy sticks and disposable drinking straws.
