Bioplastic PLA-Premium by ADBioPlastics are bio-based, compostable bioplastic that improve the properties of pure PLA. They are composed of a virgin PLA and ADBio PLA+, where both are mixed through a compounding process. They are derived from natural products such as corn, sugar cane and/or beets. They are tailor-made PLA-Premium grades.
- They are less brittle, more elastic and improve elongation at break (mechanical properties) by up to 70%, achieving a version of PLA “Premium”.
- They have better processability (cycle times and density comparable to PET), barrier properties to water vapor and oxygen and mechanical properties such as toughness & impact resistance.
- They offer good levels of transparency like polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
- They are ideal substitute for standard plastics in multiple applications and products like 3D printing, resins, packaging, containers, filaments, construction materials, textiles, medicine, and agriculture.
- They are suitable for extrusion thermoformable sheet, extrusion profile, injection blow molding of thin-walled products, extrusion of filaments, cast extrusion, blown film extrusion and hollow body blown extrusion processing.
- They comply with the European legislation standard N 13432 on food contact materials (FCM) and with the OK Compost certificate by the TÜV Austria.
- Bioplastic PLA-Premium take three months to disintegrate under industrial conditions (EN 13432).
