About ADBioPlastics

ADBioPlastics, founded in 2016 and headquartered in Valencia, Spain, develops bio-based additives and PLA compounds. Its ADBio PLA+ additive and PLA Premium grades enhance the impact resistance, processability, and barrier performance of virgin PLA through advanced compounding. The company applies reactive compatibilization and tailored formulations to create compostable resins suitable for injection molding, extrusion, and thermoforming. These technologies enable the production of compostable tubes, rigid jars, and single-dose formats that maintain moisture and oxygen protection while meeting sustainability goals.

Bioplastic PLA-Premium

Bioplastic PLA-Premium by ADBioPlastics are bio-based, compostable bioplastic that improve the properties of pure PLA. They are composed of a virgin PLA and ADBio PLA+, where both are mixed through a compounding process. They are derived from natural products such as corn, sugar cane and/or beets. They are tailor-made PLA-Premium grades.

They are less brittle, more elastic and improve elongation at break (mechanical properties) by up to 70%, achieving a version of PLA “Premium”.

They have better processability (cycle times and density comparable to PET), barrier properties to water vapor and oxygen and mechanical properties such as toughness & impact resistance.

They offer good levels of transparency like polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

They are ideal substitute for standard plastics in multiple applications and products like 3D printing, resins, packaging, containers, filaments, construction materials, textiles, medicine, and agriculture.

They are suitable for extrusion thermoformable sheet, extrusion profile, injection blow molding of thin-walled products, extrusion of filaments, cast extrusion, blown film extrusion and hollow body blown extrusion processing.

They comply with the European legislation standard N 13432 on food contact materials (FCM) and with the OK Compost certificate by the TÜV Austria.

Bioplastic PLA-Premium take three months to disintegrate under industrial conditions (EN 13432).
