Isostearyl alcohol. Jarcol™ I-18CG by aurorium acts as a solubilizer, delivery agent & emollient. It is long-chained branch alcohol derived from renewable vegetable sources. It has excellent spreading and refatting properties. It provides silky, non-oily, velvety skin feel when formulated into day creams and lotions as well as sun protection products. It is stable through extreme temperatures. It remains a liquid at 0°C that is normally possible only with synthetic and unsaturated alcohols. It maintains its characteristics in hot processing applications due to its exceptional oxidative stability. It is especially suitable for alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) skin treatment products because of its non-ester nature. It is also an excellent fragrance carrier that is used by most fragrance houses. Jarcol™ I-18CG is recommended for antiperspirant, deodorants, color cosmetics, makeup removers, creams and lotions. Other applications include sun protection products, gel and stick formulations, body washes, fragrances, bath foams and ointments.
