Ultra-fine transparent rutile titanium dioxide inorganically coated with Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>. Used in UV-curing, stoving and powder coating systems and in solvent-and water-based conventional paint and coating systems. Offers high scattering and hiding power, high refractive index, good weather resistance and very good dispersibility. <br>
Applications: automotive finishing enamels, metallic-effect, industrial, coil and aerospace coatings, printing inks, wood preservative and protection products for interior and exterior applications, oatings for paper and films, powder coating systems and polymer-based paint and coating systems. Hombitec RM 400 by Venator Materials is a highly effective transparent UV absorber. It has a small particle size. Used in wood coatings and waxes for a broad range of applications, such as furniture, joinery and parquet flooring. Offers very good long-term UV protection. Hombitec RM 400 is highly recommended for very light woods such as pine and maple, for which transparent iron oxides are too yellowish. Yellow color imparts a warm coloration to the wood substrate and even absorbs high-energy portions of the visible spectrum. Shelf life of Hombitec RM 400 is 12 months. Highly effective colorstyling tool. Used as an UV absorber for metallic coatings. Possesses primary crystallite size which is optimized to scatter blue light selectively while remaining transparent throughout the rest of the visible spectrum. Also used in combination with aluminium flakes to achieve the frost effect. Powerful, transparent UV absorber. Organic coating and small primary particle size provides good dispersibility and high performance. Does not show any migration in application or during processing, owing to the fact that inorganic pigments are insoluble. Used for paints and coatings. Hombitec® RM 400 WP by Venator Materials is a micronized transparent rutile coated with aluminium oxide in water. It contains dispersant, defoamer and propylene glycol. Used as an UV-absorber for solvent-based and water-borne systems such as transparent colorless wood preservatives for outdoor use and floor coatings. Offers uniform crystalline size, high transparency and low inherent coloration. It maintains very good weather resistance and dispersibility. Recommended dosage level of Hombitec® RM 400 WP is 1.5-3.0 % pigment volume concentration.
