Its predominant application is in the UV wavelength range as a high index material for optical multilayer coatings, especially for semiconductor lithography optics. It is recommended for AR and HR coatings for laser applications in the V-UV spectral range, e.g., at excimer wavelengths 157nm and 193nm, often in combination with MgF<sub>2</sub>.

Patinal® Silicon monoxide

Patinal® Silicon monoxide by Susonity is an evaporation material for a wide variety of applications with the emphasis on infrared (IR) and visible spectroscopy (VIS) range. It offers adhesion promotion in VIS, NIR. SiO sublimes and should preferably be evaporated from resistance heated boats. Patinal® Silicon monoxide is used in multilayer coatings, iridescent coatings, colored metallically reflecting coatings e.g., on sunglasses and web coating (barrier layers on polymer films).

Patinal® Silver

Patinal® Silver by Susonity is an evaporation material for optical and functional coatings. Thin films made from it shows a reflectivity of about 97% in the visible spectrum. Silver forms highly reflective but very sensitive surfaces; therefore, it requires proper protective coatings to avoid tarnishing of the coating. Patinal® Silver is used in coatings for electronics.

Patinal® Black A

Patinal® Black A by Susonity is an evaporation material. It is a light gray powder mixture that can be used to produce dark-brown to black low reflectance layers on glass and plastics. These appears brownish in non-black transmission and are hard, adhesive and resistant against humid air & salt solutions. These are not affected by temperature. Patinal® Black A is used in light absorbing filters, sunglasses, scales, decorative-, functional- and black coatings for optical applications.

Patinal® Substance WR1

Patinal® Substance WR1 by Susonity is an evaporation material consisting of carrier tablets made of an oxide mixture doped with a perfluorinated silane. It is developed for the deposition of hydrophobic layers by vacuum evaporation. Top coatings on AR coated glass or plastic lenses exhibit a very low wettability by water and therefore a lowered tendency to be contaminated by grease and fingerprints. Patinal® Substance WR1 is used in hydrophobic & oleophobic topcoat for ophthalmic lenses and AR coated glasses.
