Hercolyn® D by Pinova (DRT) is a methyl ester of hydrogenated rosin. Acts as a resinous tackifier and plasticizer. Offers high refractive index, low odor, high boiling point, low vapor pressure, resistance to oxidation and excellent pigment wetting properties. Being hydrogenated, it has marked resistance to aging. Hercolyn® D gives a special steam purification treatment to assure consistent mild odor. Shows wide solubility and compatibility. Used in lacquers and antifouling paints.
