Alcogum® 1370 by Nouryon is a sodium polyacrylate-based gum thickener and dispersing agent. Used to viscosify waterborne compounds in a variety of applications. Suitable for thickening styrene-butadiene, acrylonitrile, neoprene, acrylic latex compounds, and ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers. Alcogum® 1370 is recommended for carpet backing textile coatings & paints. Alcogum® 296-W by Nouryon is a stabilizer, protective colloid and thickener. It is a high viscosity, anionic, aqueous solution of sodium polyacrylate. Provides stable viscosity over a broad pH range and resistance to biological degradation. Offers very good suspending- & emulsifying properties, film-forming characteristics, non-yellowing and non-oxidizing properties. Exhibits high viscosity at low concentrations and mild resistance. Can be used for water-based systems such as natural and synthetic rubber latices, and polymeric dispersions, such as polyvinyl acetate and polyacrylate emulsions. Alcogum® 296-W is suitable for paint additives. Alcogum® L 251 by Nouryon is an acrylate emulsion copolymer-based HASE thickener. It is a part of a unique line of hydrophobically modified, alkali soluble emulsion polymers. Possesses shear thinning flow and water retention characteristics. Maintains viscosity at elevated temperatures. Can be added as the last ingredient prior to neutralization. Alcogum® L 251 is supplied at 30% active solids in water. Its dilution with water can facilitate incorporation in viscous and/or alkaline formulations. Applicable for lightweight coating formulations, paper and paperboard coating industries. Alcogum® L 520 by Nouryon is cationic compatible, acid swellable rhelogy modifier. Can be added as the last ingredient prior to neutralization. Its dilution with water can facilitate incorporation in viscous and/or alkaline formulations. Possesses shear thinning flow characteristics. It is supplied at 20% active solids in water. Alcogum® L 520 is compatible with anionic, cationic and non-ionic surfactants. Provides clear solutions and gels. Applications include paint and coatings formulations. Alcogum® L 31 by Nouryon is an acrylate emulsion copolymer-based ASE rheology modifier. Possesses shear thinning flow characteristics and effective viscosity build in high solids systems. It is compatible with anionic and non-ionic surfactants. Effective at suspending solid particles >2 microns. It can be added as the last ingredient prior to neutralization. Its dilution with water can facilitate incorporation in viscous and/ or alkaline formulations. Applications include paint formulations and latex coatings. It is supplied at 40% active solids in water. Alcogum® L 31 is listed with TSCA inventory and meets FDA requirements. Alcogum® L 29 by Nouryon is ASE rheology modifier and emulsifier. It is acrylate-based emulsion copolymer. Possesses newtonian flow, water retention and shear tolerance characteristics. Exhibits effective viscosity build in high solids systems. Alcogum® L 29 is supplied at 30% active solids in water. Applicable for latex coatings, paper and paperboard coatings. Alcogum® SL 920 by Nouryon acts as a rheology modifier. It is hydrophobically modified, alkali swellable emulsion (HASE) polymers. It is compatible with anionic and non-ionic surfactants. These associative thickeners provide much better control over a wider range of shear rates compared to more traditional synthetic polymers. Exhibits synergistic interaction with non-ionic surfactants. Offers clear solutions and gels. Can be added as the last ingredient prior to neutralization. Piccolastic™ hydrocarbon resins are homopolymers of purified styrene, supplied by Eastman. They are used for plastics modification and rubber compounding, particularly as a plasticizer or softener. In styrenic block copolymer-based systems, Piccolastic™ grades associate strongly with the styrene endblocks, reducing melt viscosity and cohesion without greatly affecting tack and adhesion properties.
