Alcogum® SL 117 by Nouryon is a HASE-based rheology modifier. It is an acrylate-based emulsion copolymer. It is supplied at 30% active solids in water. It is a part of a unique line of hydrophobically modified, alkali soluble emulsion polymers. Possesses shear thinning flow characteristics. Is compatible with anionic and non-ionic surfactants. Effective in low solids systems. Can be added as the last ingredient prior to neutralization. Its dilution with water can facilitate incorporation in viscous and/or alkaline formulations. Exhibits association with other formulations components and synergistic interaction with non-ionic surfactants. Alcogum® SL 117 is recommended for paint formulation and latex coatings.
