Vazo™ free radical initiators by Chemours are substituted azonitrile compounds that thermally decompose to generate two free radicals per molecule along with a mole of nitrogen gas. They are used to initiate bulk, solution, suspension, and emulsion polymerization.

It offers improved dirt/soil pick-up resistance (DPR), improved wash durability and cleanability of coatings. Provides oil repellency to latex paints especially flats and eggshells. It does not interfere with recoat adhesion or water repellency. It is based on short-chain fluorochemical technology which meets the goal of the US EPA 2010/2015 PFOA Stewardship Program.
