Gloxil® WW SL by Hoffmann Mineral is 15% aqueous silica dispersion functional filler that is not based on Neuburg Siliceous Earth. It is modified with special additives adapted to the matting agent and the intended application. Formation of films from the dispersion improves the incorporation of the matting agent particles.<br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>Optimum effects are obtained in dispersion binders which react highly sensitive to matting agents with markedly reduced water- and stain resistance.</li>
<li>In dry film it possesses very good matting effect, long term stability of transparency, wood grain enhancement and excellent early blocking-, metal marking- (mar resistance), early water- (anti-blushing) & enhanced stain resistance (ink, alcohol).</li>
<li>It achieves high transparency without any color tint.</li>
<li>During processing and in the wet formulation it provides very easy handling, metering and incorporation without high shear forces, no dispersion process needed, no dust formation, no risk of surface-adhesion compared to powders and improved dosing.</li>
<li>It reduces time and effort with low to no foam formation, sedimentation tendency & easy matting level adjustment via post-addition.</li>
<li>It is used as a pre-dispersed matting agent slurry in water-based coatings, in particular clear coats for wood, especially acrylate-based emulsions for wood varnishes.</li>
<li>Recommended dosage level of Gloxil® WW SL is up to 20% (w/w) based on total formulation, depending on intended gloss level.</li>
<li>It has a shelf life of 2 years.</li></ul>
