IMSIL® by Covia is a microcrystalline silica filler and extender. It is produced from a naturally occurring alpha quartz with a unique grape-like morphology. It is highly inert to strong acids and bases, and is easily wetted and dispersed in solvent- and water-based systems. It provides superior chemical resistance and durability and ensures long-lasting corrosion protection. It is available as several grades.<br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>Finer micronized grade is suitable for higher gloss paints and systems requiring controlled particle top size, such as industrial OEM topcoat coats and non-conductive inks.</li>
<li>Intermediate size grade offers uniform gloss and sheen control for topcoats & coil coats and increased inter-coat adhesion between primers & topcoats.</li>
<li>Coarser grade allows high solids loading with low viscosity, texture, anti-skid and abrasion resistance in industrial floor coatings and exterior deck coatings.</li>
<li>It offers easy tinting for deep bases combined with scrub-, scratch-, stain-, burnish- and blocking resistance.</li>
<li>IMSIL® is suitable for interior- & exterior decorative & road marking paints, industrial-, marine protective-, floor- and wood coatings. </li>
<li>In roof coatings, it boosts reflectivity of the surface while reducing heat absorption and extending lifespan of the roof.</li></ul>
