6% Cobalt Hex-Cem® by Borchers (Milliken) is a cobalt-based rapid surface drier designed for oxidatively cured solvent-based systems. It catalyzes redox reactions that lead to the dissociation of hydroperoxides, involving a change in valence from Co²⁺ to Co³⁺.<br> <ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It ensures consistent through-drying of the paint film when applied alongside a secondary drier such as zirconium, barium, or zinc.</li> <li>6% Cobalt Hex-Cem® is widely used in applications such as architectural paints, industrial coatings, stains, oil-based inks, and artist colors.</li> <li>The typical dosage level of cobalt is between 0.03-0.08% in conventional alkyd formulations.</li></ul>
