Tinuvin® 400-DW ECO by BASF is an aqueous preparation of a triazine-based UV absorber. It is designed to meet highest performance and durability requirements of indoor and exterior (in combination with a HALS) coatings. It provides blue-shifted spectral absorbance, excellent long-term performance (photo-permanence), and high thermal stability.
  • It does not interact with amines or metal catalysts and is non-migrating, reacting via the OH-function with NCO and melamine crosslinking systems.
  • It fully preserves dry-film properties such as inherent color, transparency, and gloss without affecting water sensitivity, blocking resistance, hardness, or scratch resistance.
  • It mixes easily into a broad range of water-based systems without high shear, co-solvents, or dispersing aids, shows no settling during storage, and contains no EUH 208 label, MIT, or zinc pyrithione.
  • It is suitable for automotive and transportation coatings, industrial coatings, plastic coatings on PC, PMMA, and PET, as well as architectural coatings for roof tiles, walls, and floors.
  • It is also recommended for overprint varnishes on metal, board, paper, and laminates, glass coatings and glass bonding layers, and water-based UV-curable systems.
  • Tinuvin® 400-DW ECO has a shelf life of 18 months.
