Coating ingredients for Glass Coatings

EBECRYL® 4513 by allnex is an aliphatic urethane acrylate designed for use in ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (EB) energy curable coatings. It exhibits elastic properties making it suitable for use with flexible substrates. Coatings formulated with it also demonstrate high chemical- and wear- resistance and are highly resistant to yellowing. It is used to formulate flexible UV/EB energy curable coatings for application by roller-, spraying- & curtain coating and printing on wood, cork, furniture, paper, parquet, plastics, glass & films. EBECRYL® 4513 can also be used to formulate temporary (strippable) coatings.

Micronized Barite M 40 distributed by DKSH is an excellent filler. It is a micronized barite produced only with highest purity bright white barite and natural barium sulfate ore.

• It is recommended for automotive primers and topcoats, glass enamels, powder coating, industrial and architectural coatings.
• Micronized Barite M 40 has a shelf life of 2 years.
• It is available in Canada.

VYLON® GK-150 distributed by DKSH is an adhesion promoter. It is suitable for specialty multi-layer PET films and coatings where bonding to PET, metal or glass is required. It provides excellent formability. VYLON® GK-150 is available in Europe, Asia and North America.

EBECRYL® 171 by allnex is acid modified methacrylate-based adhesion promoter. It is designed as a modifier for ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (EB) curable coatings. It is characterized by low viscosity, acid functionality and adhesion on various substrates. EBECRYL® 171 is applied by screen, direct or reverse roll coating methods. The typical usage level is 1-5% of the total formulation. Recommended for use in metal-, glass-, plastic and melamine paper coatings. The shelf life of the product is 2 years.

Photomer® 4017 distributed by DKSH is hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA) and low viscosity diluent. It possesses moderate shrinkage profile and outstanding solvency characteristics with high viscosity urethane and epoxy oligomers.

• It offers good flexibility, adhesion, leveling and weatherability coupled with good chemical-, water- and abrasion resistance.
• It exhibits reactivity, hardness, yellowing resistance and pigment wetting properties.
• It is suitable for UV and EB radiation curable inks, lacquers, wood finishes, vinyl flooring and flexible vinyl applications.
• It is used in metal, plastic, pigmented, glass, paper and board coatings.
• Photomer® 4017 has a shelf life of 12 months.
• It is available in Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and France.

EBECRYL® 8804 by allnex is a high viscosity, very light color & low odor, aliphatic urethane diacrylate. Films of this UV/electron beam (EB) curable resin offers excellent abrasion- & yellowing resistance, toughness and flexibility. Recommended for coatings for glass and flexible substrates such as vinyl and other plastics. Formulated products containing EBECRYL® 8804 may be applied via direct or reverse roll, offset gravure, metering rod, slot die, knife over roll, air knife, curtain, immersion and spin coating methods.

Luna-mer B31-LC distributed by DKSH is a highly reactive, fast curing agent & epoxy resin hardener. It has the chemical structure of a cyclic amidine.

• The high reactivity of these powders give rise to low curing temperatures (from 140°C).
• It is designed for use in the area of temperature sensitive materials (pigments in the powder: substrates with soldered parts).
• It shows shortness of the curing times (<30 sec) or high curing temperatures (max. 240°C).
• Luna-mer B31-LC is suitable for the coating of pipes, fittings, glass and ceramic articles.
• This epoxy powder system is characterized by optimal (powder) coating technology related properties and very good adhesion on the most diverse substrates.
• The shelf life of the product is 1 year at 0-40°C.
• It is available in USA, Sri Lanka & Europe.

EBECRYL® 8804 by allnex is a reduced viscosity, very light color, aliphatic urethane diacrylate. Films of this UV/electron beam (EB) curable resin offers excellent abrasion- & yellowing resistance, toughness and flexibility.

• Recommended for coatings for glass and flexible substrates such as vinyl and other plastics.
• Formulated products containing EBECRYL® 8804/10 EA may be applied via direct or reverse roll, offset gravure, metering rod, slot die, knife over roll, air knife, curtain, immersion and spin coating methods.

Leasys® 5531 by Wanhua Chemical is an anionic aliphatic polyester-polyurethane dispersion with high gloss and good handle.

• Exhibits excellent yellow and abrasion resistance.
• It can be used in textile coating and topcoat of leather.
• This waterborne resin is recommended for interior, exterior, clearcoat, topcoat, plastic, wood and glass applications.
• Leasys® 5531 contains <2%triethylamine as neutralizing agent.

Crysol® 6110 by Wanhua Chemical is an aliphatic, anionic polyurethane dispersion for flexible plastic and soft-feel coating.

• It offers good film-forming property, excellent adhesion, excellent solvent resistance and abrasion resistance.
• This waterborne resin is recommended for interior, exterior, clearcoat, topcoat, metal, wood, plastic, wall and glass applications.
