Laroflex® MP 15

Laroflex® MP 15 by BASF is a hydrolysis-resistant chlorinated binder. It is compatible with most alkyd resins, drying oils, polyacrylic resins, liquid epoxy resins, tars, and bitumens. It offers broad solvent compatibility, good compatibility with coating raw materials, high pigment binding capacity at high solids, and unrestricted pigment and extender selection.

• It can be applied using common coating techniques without cobwebbing, even at high solids, and their thermal stability allows force drying.
• It provides strong adhesion to iron, steel, and existing coating systems, together with good intercoat adhesion.
• It exhibits resistance to aqueous alkalis, acids, salt solutions, water, humidity fluctuations, low and cyclic temperatures, chalking, and yellowing.
• It provides long-lasting corrosion protection under severe outdoor conditions.
• It is used in anti-corrosion coatings, coatings for galvanized steel and other non-ferrous metals, concrete, and fiber cement coatings.
• It is applicable in road marking paints, flame-retardant coatings on non-flammable building materials, printing inks, marine coatings, and container paints.
• It is also suitable for industrial corrosion protection systems, marine and underwater corrosion protection coatings, antifouling paints, machinery finishes, automotive finishes, and container finishes.
• It also has additional applications, including coatings for aluminum and mineral substrates, architectural finishes, swimming pool coatings, sealing and impregnating primers for mineral substrates, indoor and outdoor wood coatings, duroplastic coatings, paper and cardboard coatings, textile impregnation and coatings, and effect paints such as wrinkle, hammer, and crackle finishes.
• It has a shelf life of 24 months.
