HORDAMER® PE 02 by BYK is a primary dispersion of polyethylene with an anionic emulsifier. Acts as a defoamer, adhesion promoter and wetting agent. It is cost-effective process, can be used with standard equipment and no additional working step is necessary in it. During its storage the pH value may drop to a value as low as pH 8 but product performance is not affected. During the production of hot melts and soft thermoplastics (TPE and TPU), HORDAMER® PE 02 is used in underwater pelletizing to yield free-flowing granules that do not stick. It is directly added to the cooling water and additional use of a defoamer is recommended. It improves adhesion to PE substrates in emulsion adhesives. Its typical dosage is between 1- 4 % as supplied based on cooling water quantity.
