SONGSORB® 3260

SONGSORB® 3260 by Songwon is benzotriazole-based UV absorber for plastics. It is a strong absorber of ultraviolet radiation in the 300~400nm region. This additive possesses a high degree of photostability-photochemical energy absorbed in the ultraviolet region is dissipated as thermal energy. It differs from SONGSORB® 1000 principally in greater absorption of longer wavelengths, better compatibility with polyolefins, lower volatility, and suppressed ionization of the phenolic grouping. It is less affected by alkalinity, less likely to discolor with metals and has less effect on metal driers as well as metal catalysts due to the higher dissociation constant of SONGSORB® 3260 by Songwon (approximately 13 as compared with 11.7 for SONGSORB® 1000- in 80% aqueous dioxane.). It can be used in combination with phenolic & phosphite antioxidants as well as HALS to optimize performance in outdoor use. Recommended for PE, PP, polybutylene and polyesters.

This additive provides better initial color than benzotriazoles. SONGSORB® 7120 exhibits a synergistic effect in combination with HALS. It can be used in combination with phenolic as well as phosphite antioxidants, and HALS for thermal and light stabilization in outdoor use i.e, TPO bumper application.
