The most widely used general purpose accelerator for CR.
It has a medium speed of vulcanisation.
Has a good compression set and general physical prpperties.
Can activate thiazoles strongly in sulphur vulcanisation.
Used in general purpose moulding and extrusion compounds. Robac TMTM by Robinson Brothers has General purpuse secondary accelerator, much safer processing than TMTD. Doesn't vulcanise rubber in the absence of elemental sulphur. Robac TMTM is used in tyres and IRP. Also used in mercaptan-modified CR, along with DOTG and sulphur in circumstances where ETU is not acceptable. Robac LATU by Robinson Brothers is Active liquid thiourea readily incorporated into adhesive formulations. Medium speed of vulcanisation. Robac LATU is used in CR, adhesives and doughs. Dithiocarbamate. Used as an accelerator. Offers fast cure rate. Reduces or eliminate iridescence in production parts. Exhibits low heat build-up (low hysterisis) and very good compression set in natural rubber – particularly in thicker crosssections that may get over cured. Reacts so rapidly with sulfur that it is necessary to use the rubber-bound form to prevent premature reactions with sulfur or sulfur-bearing chemicals. Robac AS100 by Robinson Brothers is a di-isopropyl xanthogen polysulphide. Acts as an accelerator. Its chemical structure is completely free from nitrogen, phosphorous and metallic elements. The vulcanizates obtained with Robac AS100 are transparent and free from copper staining. Used for NR, synthetic polyisoprene and NBR. It is FDA approved. Robac BiDD by Robinson Brothers is a safe-processing secondary accelerator. It is fast at high vulcanization temperatures. Robac BiDD is suited for injection and transfer moulding. Robac CuDD by Robinson Brothers is a safe-processing secondary accelerator for use in black and dark colors. Fast action at high vulcanisation temperatures.
Used in SBR C.V extrusions. Robac ZiX by Robinson Brothers is an active secondary accelerator that synergises strongly with AS100 in low nitrosamine systems.
Also synergises strongly with dithiocarbamates and activated dithiocarbamates to give fast vulcanisation at room temperature.
Robac ZiX may be regarded as the most active system for low temperature vulcanisation. Boosts MBT in latex vulcanisation, and is used in adhesives and coatings. Widely used as active secondary accelerator for dry rubber.
Can also be used as a primary accelerator in latex.
Prevulcanises latex and gives high modulus and transparency.
High solubility in rubbers.
Used in IRP and latex industry.
Good antioxidant for NR adhesives and certain T.P.E.
High solubility in hydrocarbon polymers.
Resistant to extraction by oils and fuels.
Protects against thermal degradation.
Suitable for white and clear compounds. Active boost for use in EPDM vulcanisation.
Cost effective alternative to TeDEC.
May discolour white and light colours.
Best in black and dark colours.
Used in high temperature CV systems.
