Cohedur® A 250 by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is an adhesion promoter additive. It can directly bond rubber with commonly used fabrics, textile fibers, such as rayon, polyamide and polyester (with special spin finish) and brass- or zinc-plated steel cord. It improves the adhesion substantially when used with polymers having a higher degree of saturation like EPDM. It is created by providing the rubber component with a resorcinol-, methylene- and reinforcing silica component. It is processed by vulcanization. It finds application in diene rubbers such as NR, SBR, BR, NBR and CR. Recommended dosage level based on 100 parts by weight of elastomer are 4.6 phr in Cohedur® A 250 3.4 phr in Cohedur® RS and 15 phr in Vulkasil® S. It has a shelf life of 2 years. Cohedur® H 30 by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is a direct bonding agent for rubber to fabric (rayon, polyamide and polyester) and brass- or zinc-plated steel cord bonding. It also functions as hardening agent for reinforcing phenol formaldehyde resins and as amine accelerator. It is created by providing the rubber component with a resorcinol-, methylene- and reinforcing silica component. It also serves as a secondary accelerator for compounds containing mercapto accelerator. It is used in textile fibers, diene rubbers like NR, SBR, BR, NBR and CR. It has a shelf life of 183 days. Cohedur® RS by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is an adhesion promoter additive. It improves the adhesion substantially when used with polymers having a higher degree of saturation like EPDM. It is created by providing the rubber component with a resorcinol-, methylene- and reinforcing silica component. It is processed by vulcanization. It can directly bond rubber with commonly used fabrics, textile fibers, such as rayon, polyamide and polyester (with special spin finish) and brass- or zinc-plated steel cord. It is processed by vulcanization. It is designed for diene rubbers such as NR, SBR, BR, NBR and CR. Recommended dosage level based on 100 parts by weight of elastomer are 2.3 phr in Cohedur® A 200, 3.4 phr in Cohedur® RS and 15 phr in Vulkasil® S. It has a shelf life of 2 years. Cohedur® RK by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is a bonding agent. It imparts good adhesion to all the normal reinforcing materials like rayon, poly-amide, polyester with special spin finish, glass fibers and bare and galvanized without their first having to be treated with a bonding agent. It serves as the resorcinol component of the three-component system. It exhibits better scorch resistance than those made with resorcinol itself. It can be used in rubber solutions for the dough spreading process. It finds application in chloroprene rubber, NR, SBR, BR and their blends. Recommended typical levels of addition based on 100 parts by weight of elastomer are 7-9 phr in Cohedur® RK, 10- 30 phr in Vulkasil® S and 2-2.5 phr in Cohedur® A. It has a shelf life of 2 years. Cohedur® RDL by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is a direct bonding agent for rubber to fabrics (cotton, rayon, poly-amide, polyester), steel cord and glass fibers. It obtained excellent adhesion with polar and un-polar elastomers, such as NBR, HNBR, CR, NR, IR, SBR and BR. In this additive, oil-extended elastomers can yield in inferior results as also highly saturated polymers like IIR and EPDM, at a considerably lower adhesion level. In steel cord the bond strength increases in the order raw, zinc plated and brass-plated steel. It finds application in tires, conveyor belting, V-belts, reinforcing hose, air springs, flexible containers and fabric proofing. Recommended typical levels of addition based on 100 parts by weight of elastomer are 6-8 phr in Cohedur® RDL, 1-30 phr in Vulkasil® S with textile and 5-10 phr in Vulkasil® S with steel cord. It has a shelf life of 91 days. Cohedur® A 100 by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is hexamethylolmelamine ether-based adhesion promoter. It provides good adhesion between rubber and substrate. Cohedur® A 100 is used for composites such as tires, conveyor belts, V-belts, hoses, rubberized fabrics and containers. Cohedur® RL by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is an adhesion promoter. It offers good adhesion between rubber and substrate. Cohedur® RL is a blend of 45.5% rescorinol, 45.5% Cohedur® A 100 and 9% butyl phthalate.
