RHEOBYK® -R 605

by BYK

RHEOBYK®-R 605 by BYK is a liquid, rheology additive for plastic applications such as vinyl ester and gel coats to reinforce the rheological effectiveness of pyrogenic silica. It is used as a thixotropic-reinforcing additive in unsaturated polyester resins, epoxy and polyurethane systems that already contain pyrogenic silica or organophilic phyllosilicates (organoclays) as rheology additives. It reinforces the three-dimensional network structure of the silica or phyllosilicates through additional bridges, thereby enhancing the thixotropy. For this reason, it achieves sufficiently high anti-sagging properties with improved leveling and air release properties, even with low quantities of silica or phyllosilicates. In vinyl ester resins, it activates hydrophilic, pyrogenic silica. It can be used in various resins, including polyols, to prevent fillers settling during storage and to stabilize molecular sieves such as zeolite. The recommended level based on pyrogenic silica in vinyl ester resins is 20-50%, pyrogenic silica in other resins is 10-30%, organophilic phyllosilicates (organoclays) is 5-20% and inorganic fillers is 0.5-2%. It is listed in EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI. It is in line with Directive 2011/65/EU (EU RoHS 2), as amended by the Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863 (EU RoHS 3), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste), CONEG Toxics in Packaging. It complies with REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. The shelf life of this product is 60 months.

RHEOBYK® -7410 ET

by BYK

RHEOBYK®-7410 ET by BYK is a liquid rheology additive to generate highly thixotropic flow behavior for medium-polarity solvent-borne and solvent-free systems. It enables plastisols to be manufactured and processed more quickly and improves the anti-settling behavior and anti-sagging properties. It minimizes floating in pigmented plastisols and improves the control of the coating profile in the gelling oven. Foam stability is increased in mechanically frothed PVC foams. The recommended level is 0.1-0.5% additive (as supplied) based on the PVC resin to prevent settling & floating and 0.3-1% additive (as supplied) based on the PVC resin to prevent sagging. In exceptional cases doses of up to 3% are possible. RHEOBYK®-7410 ET is highly suited for preventing sedimentation in filled, reactive casting resin systems such as epoxy, polyurethane and acrylate resins, and also in some polyester resins. Using the additive makes it possible to increase the anti-sagging properties without impairing leveling. Generally, it only increases the viscosity at low shear rates and therefore does not influence the application properties at high shear rates. This is made possible by the creation of a three-dimensional network structure. The time-related network build-up and the resulting thixotropic flow behavior improves the air release properties of the system. The recommended level is 0.2-1% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation to prevent settling and 0.5-2% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation to increase the anti-sagging properties. It is listed in EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI. It is in line with EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste), CONEG Toxics in Packaging. It complies with REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. The shelf life of this product is 12 months.
