BYK-MAX P 4102

by BYK

BYK-MAX P 4102 by BYK is a combined processing additive for the use in polyolefins to improve the dispersing of pigments and mineral filler. It increases the throughput and reduces the viscosity & filter pressure value. It is a solution of a hydroxy-functional carboxylic acid ester with pigment affinity groups. It adsorbs on the surface of the fillers and pigments, therefore bringing about optimum processing and dispersion during extrusion. It improves the torque build-up, throughput, viscosity (MVR), filter pressure value (FPV) and dispersion quality. It is particularly recommended for filled thermoplastic compounds and color masterbatches based on PE and PP, but also for ABS, PA and PVC. The recommended level for mineral fillers is 0.25-2%, for inorganic pigments is 3-15% and for organic pigments is 10-30%. It is suitable for food contact plastics, Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 and FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 Olefin polymers. The shelf life of BYK-MAX P 4102 is 36 months.

It increases the scratch resistance of surfaces of thermoplastic molded parts based on polyolefins e.g. polypropylene (PP). Dosages as low as 0.5-1% result in a significant improvement of the scratch resistance of thermoplastic surfaces when used in vehicle interiors. The shelf life of BYK-MAX ASC 4181 is 3 months.

BYK-MAX P 4101

by BYK

BYK-MAX P 4101 by BYK is a combined processing additive based on a fatty acid ester for the use in polyolefins to optimize process control (e.g. viscosity, torque, build-up and throughput). It adsorbs on the surface of the filler. It improves the mechanical properties (tensile strength, E-modulus, HDT and charpy impact strength) in the finished part by the formation of physical bonds between the filler particles and the polymer. It can be added to the filler or the plastic prior to or during compounding. BYK-MAX P 4101 is designed for filled, thermoplastic compounds like PE, PP, PA, ABS, PVC. Recommended dosage level is 0.25-1.5% additive (as supplied) based on the filler. It has a shelf life of 24 months.

BYK-MAX CT 4260

by BYK

It also improves the process & physical barrier properties in thermoplastic compounds as well as the dropping behavior and crust formation. It can reduce the filler content and overall weight. The barrier properties to oxygen, water vapor and hydrocarbons can be increased by using BYK-MAX CT 4260. In thermoplastics such as polyamides (PA) and bioplastics such as polylactides (PLA), the melt viscosity is increased enabling an improvement in the dimensional stability during profile extrusion. It is especially recommended for aluminum hydroxide-filled ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), low-density polyethylene (LDPE/LLDPE), magnesium hydroxide-filled polypropylene (PP), polypropylene (PP) films and polylactide (PLA) films. It is listed in EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI. It is in line with EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste), CONEG Toxics in Packaging. It complies with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 (Restricted) and US FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 Olefin Polymers. The recommended level is 3-5% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation. It has a shelf life of 60 months.

BYK-MAX P 4104

by BYK

BYK-MAX P 4104 by BYK is a safe, easy to handle, dust-free, granulated, VOC-free, processing additive for use in polyolefins. It lowers the viscosity of the polymer melt during processing by reducing friction between the melt and the metal surfaces of the processing equipment, thereby increasing production efficiency. The product also reduces adhesion and melt fractures. It can increase throughput by 10-30%. The product reduces cycle time during blow molding, reduces surface defects, improves surface properties, and can lower the processing temperature, thereby also reducing energy consumption. It supports a more homogeneous layer thickness and reduces the yield stress, the die swell and melt pressure. Also, can support quicker color changes and thereby minimizes waste and production disruptions. There is no blooming and no negative impact on printability or heat-sealing properties. It consists of non-adhesive granulates. The recommended level is 0.8-2% additive (as supplied) based upon the total formulation. The additive can be added via volumetric or gravimetric dosing units during processing in all extruders, blow molding and injection molding machines. BYK-MAX P 4104 is recommended for cast & blown films based on PP, HDPE and LLDPE, pipes, wires and cables, blow molding and general extrusion applications. The shelf life of this product is 12 months. It complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.1520.

BYK-MAX D 4221

by BYK

BYK-MAX D 4221 by BYK is a wetting and dispersing additive in powder form for the production of color masterbatches. It is a highly functionalized polymer additive specially developed for optimum dispersion in conjunction with good throughput during the production of masterbatches. It has a low melting point and is therefore capable of efficiently wetting pigments prior to the fusing of the polymer carrier. It absorbs onto the pigment surface, thereby generating a steric stabilization that facilitates the dispersion of agglomerates and prevents agglomeration. It is also suitable for compounding siliceous fillers (talc, wollastonite, mica) in PA, PET and PBT. BYK-MAX D 4221 is designed for the dispersion of solids in PP, PE, PS, PA, ABS, PET and PBT. It complies with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. Recommended dosage levels is 5-15% in inorganic pigment, carbon black & titanium dioxide, 25-40% (organic pigment) 5% in blowing agent & filler (talc, wollastonite, mica). It has a shelf life of 36 months.
