GARAMITE® -1958 by BYK is a powdered rheology & thixotropic additive based on a composition of organically modified phyllosilicates. It increases storage stability and sag resistance. The combination of various morphological structures in the mineral components results in it being particularly easy to disperse and offering high efficiency in various unsaturated polyester and vinylester-based resins.<br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It offers higher coating thicknesses and strong shear thinning effect.</li>
<li>It also offers higher bulk densities compared with pyrogenic silica which means lower dusting and less storage space required and greater efficiency and/or lower dosage.</li>
<li>GARAMITE® -1958 is particularly suited to formulating PVC plastisols.</li>
<li>It provides pseudoplastic flow, broad compatibility with various plasticizers and greater effectiveness than precipitated fillers.</li>
<li>It is easy to incorporate and has no impact on the VOC content.</li>
<li>The recommended level for PVC plastisols is 1-5% additive (as supplied) based upon the total formulation, depending on the properties of the formulation to be achieved.
<li>It is listed in EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI.</li>
<li>It is in line with EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste), CONEG Toxics in Packaging. It complies with REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.</li>

It is suitable for use in unsaturated polyester, vinyl esters, polyurethanes, acrylates and epoxy resins and PVC plastisols. It offers easy dispersibility, high efficiency, good shear thinning flow property, pseudoplastic flow. <br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It provides reduced dust generation in production compared to fumed silica and higher efficacy than precipitated fillers.</li>
<li>It requires no activation by heat or activators and also requires less storage area due to higher bulk density compared to fumed silica.</li>
<li>It is easy to incorporate, prevents filler settling and is compatible with various plasticizers. </li>
<li>Recommended dosage level is 0.5-5% additive based on the resin content for thermosets and 1-5% additive based on the total formulation for PVC plastisols. </li>
<li>Complies with REACH, EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste) and CONEG. </li>

It increases the storage stability and sag resistance. The combination of various morphological structures in the mineral components results in it being particularly easy to disperse and offering high efficiency in various unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester-based resins. It offers higher coating thicknesses, strong shear thinning effect, very low shear forces are required for incorporation, which reduces processing time by up to 50%. Also, offers no heat or activators are needed for activation, greater bulk densities compared with fumed silica which means lower dusting and less storage space required and greater efficiency and/or lower dosage. The recommended level is 0.5-5% additive (as supplied) based upon resin. GARAMITE®-1210 is listed in TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS and NZIoC. It is in line with EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste) and CONEG Toxics in Packaging. It complies with REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. The shelf life of this product is 60 months.
