AFLAMMIT® PMN 185 by Thor is melamine orthophosphate based flame retardant. It act as an acid donor and blowing agent. It has relatively low temperature of decomposition (200°C) which should be borne in mind for sequencing the intumescent reactions. It can be used alone in certain thermosets but is generally combined with more powerful phosphorus FRs. It is recommended for electronics and electricals, transportation and construction.
