Bartex® 80

Barium sulfate. Acts as an extender pigment. It is designed to increase the efficiency of titanium dioxide. It features controlled particle size, high specific gravity, chemical inertness as well as high whiteness and brightness. Bartex® 80 builds weight in the product at low cost and functions in relation to the performance of prime pigments in many areas of end use. Possesses increased gloss, more developed hiding, stiffening effect as well as improved/maintained physical properties. It disperses easily as well as increases specific gravity, frictional resistance, chemical resistance, and X-ray opaqueness in most systems. Has higher absorption capacities, absorbs more plasticizer in polyvinyl compounds. It promotes faster cure in polyester resins and offers high density in polyurethane foams with higher load bearing properties, improved processing, and sound suppression. Used in rubber applications i.e. floor mats, foam and carpet backing. Can also be used in bowling balls, paper casting, brake linings, traffic cones & toys. It is suitable in cost sensitive applications where gloss is not a factor.
